Payments Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Payment Terms of Service ("Payment Terms") govern the payment services available on Surfara’s platform. By using the payment services, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these terms.

2. Scope of Surfara Payments

Services Provided: Surfara Payments facilitates transactions between participants on Surfara’s platform through third-party payment service providers.

Acceptance of Terms: By agreeing to these terms, you authorize Surfara to instruct Surfara’s approved payment providers to handle such transactions.

3. Key Payment Terms

  • Service Fees: Surfara charges a 15% service fee on all bookings made through the platform, deducted from the host's payment.
  • Payment Processing: Payment processing services for hosts on Surfara are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the "Stripe Services Agreement").
  • Payment Methods: Surfara supports a variety of payment methods including credit cards, PayPal, and other popular payment platforms to provide flexibility and convenience for our users. Detailed instructions on how payments are processed are available through the Surfara platform. Users are encouraged to refer to their account settings for specific guidance on configuring and managing their payment options.

4. User Responsibilities

Accurate Information: You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store.

Review of Charges: You agree to promptly review any charges processed to your account and to notify Surfara immediately of any discrepancies or unauthorized charges.

5. Payouts to Hosts

Timing of Payouts: Hosts will receive payout for a completed booking 24 hours after the guest checks in to accommodate any cancellations or disputes.

Payout Methods: Payouts to hosts will be made through direct deposit, PayPal, or other payment methods specified by the host during the listing process.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Guest Refunds: Refunds to guests will be processed according to the cancellation policy specified by the host at the time of booking.

Host Compensation: In the event of a guest cancellation that qualifies for a refund, hosts may be eligible for partial compensation based on the cancellation policy.

7. Disputes and Reversals

Handling Disputes: If there is a dispute concerning any payment transaction, Surfara will assist in mediating the attempt to reach a resolution.

Reversals: If a payment is reversed (for example, a chargeback from a credit card issuer or a reversal of a direct debit), Surfara will seek to recover the funds from you to cover the reversal.

8. Taxes

Responsibility for Taxes: The reporting and payment of applicable taxes arising from the use of Surfara Payments lies with the user or the host, depending on the local regulations.

Documentation: Surfara will provide hosts with a yearly summary of their earnings to assist in tax reporting where applicable.

9. Prohibited Activities

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you do not use Surfara Payments for activities that are prohibited by law, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, financing for terrorist organizations, or other illicit activities.

10. Amendments to Payment Terms

Surfara reserves the right to modify these Payment Terms at any time in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. You will be notified of any changes to the Payment Terms, and you must agree to the amended terms to continue using Surfara Payments.
